Literature Publication and distribution: IEA is intensively involved in publication of evangelistic literature and distribution. Six titles have been translated and printed from English to Oriya. Hundreds and thousands of pieces of Bibles, New Testaments, books and tracts have been distributed by IEA in the past years. IEA’s first publication ‘Sayatanara Kausalla’ Oriya version of (Satan Strategy) was printed in March 1985. Funds to print this book were made available by Homer Duncan, the author of the book. The book is a new addition to the Christian Literature in Orissa. In 1986, I.E.A published the second book ‘Who is Man?’ and this book has been translated from ‘A word in Season’ into Oriya. One more book was published in Oriya entitled ‘Asara Nangara’ translated from “Anchor of Hope”. Slowly this publication stopped due to the financial crises faced by the Organization.
So far 3 titles have been published in Oriya:
- Sayatanara Kousalla (Satan’s Strategy)
- Manusyakia? (Who is Man?)
- Asara Nangara (Anchor of Hope).
A fine book on prayer entitled “Fasting and prayer” has been translated from English into Oriya. Another book “Focus!” has also been translated. This book is about the people group thinking and how they can be reached.
A thirty days prayer book was designed to mobilize prayer for the Muslim world during Ramadan. Since last 2002 I.E.A took up this project in partnership and translated this book into Oriya and circulated to churches, mission organizations, prayer groups and individuals.
As per literature distribution is concerned I.E.A gets literature from Operation Mobilization India, Bible Society of India and India Bible Literature. We plan to saturate every village and town with the gospel literature. Gospel literature is one of the effective media to reach people for Christ. Please pray for needed funds to print evangelistic literature in Oriya language.
Evangelistic film and audio-visuals: Evangelistic film is one of the most effective media to communicate the gospel to non-Christians. In April 1983 gospel messages were recorded in Soura tribal language and again in September recordings were made in six tribal languages of Koraput district in cooperation with Gospel Recordings Association, Bangalore. It is noteworthy that the Indian production of Jesus film entitled DAYASAGAR in Hindi is making tremendous impact on the masses of the villages. In the past years, this film has been screened in hundreds of villages, reaching thousands of lives that have been touched. The response is overwhelming. Please pray for effective use of this film in the years ahead. Spiritual Film show was conducted at two of our Child Development Centre in April, 2008; children saw “David and Goliath, Creation, Samson and Delilah, Jonah and the great Fish, and the story of Joshua”. Parents also coming from non-christian background were moved after watching the movie “The Passion of Christ”. We pray for the effective use of Film and Audio Visuals as a tool and platform for transformation and gaining souls for Christ.
