Child Empowerment and Development:
Childcare: Childcare is an important area that IEA is involved. There are thousands of children in the society deprived of education, though it is their fundamental right. Children are under social abuse, prostitution, poverty and child labor. With the support and partnership of the Compassion International, IEA has successfully implemented two Child development projects in Orissa where 600 school going children are being benefited. These projects are targeted to help mainly the children of the economically and socially underprivileged. The project is supporting 600 children under Dalit Children Program by providing square meal a day, educational material, school dress, medical care and other accessories. They are also given emergency medical assistance as the need arises. The performance of these children in different competitions has been excellent. Their educational standards also have improved considerably. There is plenty of scope to empower these children through various programs in order to make their future bright.
The main goals of the projects are:
- Promoting kingdom values and biblical ethics through the vocational Bible school guide, daily devotion and other spiritual activities.
- Ensuring Child Literacy growth at least up to 80%.
- Reducing the incidence of diseases and infant mortality rate and increasing the life expectancy by health awareness program among the parents and children.
- Providing them school materials like: school textbooks, school fees, school bags, umbrella, shoes, slippers etc.
- Eradicating poverty and malnutrition through day care centers and health care etc.

Orphanage:
Children’s Home: Orphans and Semi-orphan children also being taken care by IEA. There are 50 orphans, semi-orphan boys at “Abiel Children’s Home” and 20 girls in “Esther Girls Home”. These children are deprived of education as their parents are unable to meet their basic necessities. The girls in Esther Home in Kondhmal are the victims of Kondhmal communal riots who suffered severe persecution in 2008. During the violence some of these girls either have lost father or mother and were in miserable condition. Seeing the appalling condition IEA workers identified them and brought to this home. As the academic year begins, they are admitted to higher classes in different schools. They need books, uniforms, shoes, boxes, etc.
