The vast majority in our society are suffering from various diseases and unable to be treated due to their economic condition. This situation is more prevalent in the slum areas in the cities. Having felt this great need in the slums in Cuttack, we began conducting medical camps with a qualified doctor and pra-medical staff. Through this programme slum dwellers get free consultation and medicines as well. In 2005, God has provided us with an ambulance van which is being used for medical camps in 12 slum localities in Cuttack city. In the last one year more than 1000 people in the slums have received free medicines through medical camps. One medical camp costs us about Rs.4,000/- (US $90.00) which includes cost of medicines, doctors’ honorarium, fuel etc. Please pray as we are running shortage of funds at the moment.
