Church Planting and Pioneering Evangelism:

IEA is reaching some of the most unreached areas and People Groups in Orissa and active in Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nowrangpur, Gajapati, Phulbani and Sundergarh districts. About 110 churches have been established as a result of hard labor of field missionaries. We have planted 22 concrete church buildings of 20’x40’ size which accommodates 250-300 people. The rest of the congregations are meeting in thatched houses and homes. We are planning to reach out to other districts and to see more churches planted. Please pray for church buildings for all these needy congregations. A Church building of 20’x40’ costs Rs.2, 50, 000.00 (US $5680.00). You could partly or fully share in this budget.

Prayer mobilization:
Prayer mobilization is another area IEA emphasizes. We are making special efforts to mobilize prayer for Orissa. We have been printing 30-DAYS PRAYER booklet for the four years in Oriya and distributing to missions, churches, prayer groups and individuals. The objective is to mobilize prayer for the Muslim world and Orissa among whom there is no Christian witness. IEA conducted several “Prayer Seminars” in the past years. We believe Orissa will be transformed through intensive prayer. Prayer is a must if we want to see God in action in Orissa. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their Lord.” (II Chronicles 7:14)

Orissa prayer network is planning to conduct prayer seminars in every district and a Prayer Conference with 300 participants in 2011. Please join in Orissa Prayer Network and pray for half and hour or one hour daily alone or with a group.

Under the present circumstances while the Churches and Christian Community going through a trying situation in this east Indian state of Orissa, we realise that prayer mobilisation is quite imperative. Hence IEA has been initiating and organizing prayer seminars to educate and create interest in the lives of believing Christians to pray for the challenges we are facing today. A series of prayer seminars were conducted. In 2009, one-day prayer seminar on 25th March, two-day prayer seminar on 19th and 20th August, prayer walk preparation on 27th October and Cuttack City Prayer Walk on 7th November. The Prayer Walk teams began from 7 different points of the city and covered quite a considerable area, walking and  praying. Please send in your prayer requests.
