Rev. Dr. Pran Ranjan Parichha
Founder-Director: India Evangelistic Association
Rev. Dr. P. R. Parichha was born in a small village to a farmer family. His father passed away while he was around 3/4 years of age. Rev. Parichha, his widow mother and younger sister were taken care by his maternal uncles. He went to college after schooling but due to various problems could not complete his graduation.
Call & venture into aggressive evangelism:
But God had a wonderful plan for him. At the age of 20, in 1969 he joined Operation Mobilization India. He worked with OM Outreach Teams in Orissa, West Bengal and Bihar. In 1971 he was sent to join M/V Logos ship to undergo Intensive Leadership Training programme. He sailed from Madras port with 25 Indian OMers to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. It was a thrilling experience and exposure for him for a Youngman who hails from a small insignificant village. During this time he had the privileges to visit many churches to share his testimony and preach the Word of God. This overseas experience widened his vision for world evangelization.
Leadership Begins:
On his return from Logos Ship he was given the responsibility to lead the OM Team and co-ordinate the OM work in Utter Pradesh the largest State in India. He traveled extensively throughout the State preaching with the team in open-air, churches, conferences and distributing lakhs of pieces of Christian literature. During his ministry in OM he attended hundreds of Seminar and Conferences and traveled across India extensively.
Change of Ministry:
It was in 1974, he got invitation to join India Every Home Crusade by late B. A. G. Prasad who was the director of IEHC in Andhra Pradesh and then became the South Asia Director. He moved to Hyderabad and became coordinator of IEHC work in Orissa. In 1982 he moved to Orissa, his home State with IEHC. Ever since Rev. Parichha and his family are living in Cuttack, Orissa. Then Orissa was a virgin field as far as evangelism is concerned. Having visited so many places in India and abroad, he had great desire to return to Orissa, his home state. He coordinated EHC work in Orissa being in Hyderabad until 1982 and then moved to Orissa in March 1982. Needless to mention that EHC work in Orissa progressed considerably under his leadership.
A New Vision:
In 1983 a new vision was born to reach Orissa more effectively, systematically and as a result India Evangelistic Association was registered with the Government of Orissa in 1984. Ever since Rev. Dr. P. R. Parichha is the Founder/Director of India Evangelistic Association which subsequently has become one of the largest indigenous missions in Orissa. IEA has hundreds of workers across Orissa reaching the most unreached people groups and areas and has planted more than 200 churches. Besides church pioneer evangelism and church planting, IEA is engaged in childcare, medical care, community development, literacy programme, SHG programme. IEA has conducted scores of seminars and conferences and the most significant are All Orissa Pastor Conference for 1000 Pastors in 1992 and Orissa Congress an unreached People Groups in 1995. Scores of Conferences, Seminars and meetings have been conducted in Orissa under his leadership. He would like to commemorate his thanks for the blessings and goodness of the Lord during the last 37 years of his involvement in ministry despite all odds and very specially how the Lord has been guiding and using IEA ministry for the past 28 years to reach Orissa with the gospel. Praise God! He and his family (wife Kalika, daughter Puspita, Son Ashish) would appreciate your continued prayer.
President (Orissa Chapter) All India Christian Council:
Rev. Dr. Parichha was unanimously elected as President of Orissa Chapter, All India Christian Council in a gathering of more than 100 Church/Missions leaders in 2004. Ever since he is effectively handling all the persecution issues in the Orissa State, where the Freedom of Religion Act is fully in force. Rev. Dr. Parichha sends representation to the top government officials of the State and Nation about every persecution issue or atrocities of any nature on the Christian minority community in Orissa. He awaits your prayer as he stands in the gap.
Participation in International Conferences:
- It was his privilege to participate in Amsterdam 1986 in Holland where 5000 participants from all over the world attended.
- In 1990 he was invited to participate in Asian Missions Congress in Seoul, South Korea. Rev. Dr. Parichha was one of the only two Mission Leaders from Orissa who were invited. He says, “It was an amazing experience to see and witness the dynamic church growth in Korea. We had the privilege to visit the largest church in the world known as Dr. Paul Yongi Church”.
- Again unexpectedly he received invitation to participate in Global Consultation on World Evangelism in 1990 in Seoul, Korea. Once again it was a thrilling experience for him to be in Korea. This experience has enriched his Christian life and ministry.
- After 14 years he received straight invitation without filling application to attend again Amsterdam 2000 in Holland where 10,000 participants took part. He was invited this time as a one of the strategy leaders of India. Needless to mention that these conferences have strengthened his ministry experiences and to move forward in this indigenous faith ministry of India Evangelistic Association.
- He felt honored to receive an invitation from Dr. John Robb, Chairman, International Prayer Council to participate in “UN Prayer Initiative” during September 8-12, 2009. About 400 participants were invited from 70 countries. Ambassadors from nearly 50 countries joined in the prayer conference conducted in the United Nations Building on Sept 10th, 2009. Other prayer movements included Prayer Walk around ‘Ground Zero’ (World Trade Center that was attacked and destroyed). He explains that the experience was thrilling and exciting.

We deem it a joy to inform that Rev. P. R. Parichha has been awarded Honorary Degree of Doctor of Divinity for his dedicated ministerial work by International Institute of Church Management. In this connection the Board of Directors of India Evangelistic Association arranged a get-together of Christian Leaders on 1st December, 2006 where 120 were present. It was a great occasion for IEA ministry. Rev. Parichha’s profile was read by a board member, which speaks of his life and ministry and was much appreciated. Rev. Parichha was on tears as he shared the blessings and goodness of the Lord of the last 37 years of his ministry despite all odds and very specially how the Lord has been guiding and using IEA ministry for the past 23 years to reach Orissa with the gospel.
